AMD NPT support for memory events?

Hi,

I was looking at the code for the memory events for guest domain in
xen/arch/xen/mm/mem_event.c
.
In the
mem_event_domctl
function where it initializes the
XEN_DOMCTL_MEM_EVENT_OP_ACCESS
case, there is a comment that Currently only EPT is supported and then a check is made for the vmx presence at it returns if it is not Intel VT with an error.
I am trying to make the memory events working on AMD SVM with NPT support.
The AMD guest on the other hand works fine.
My question is is there a specific reason why AMD NPT is supported there?
The things I should keep in mind/work on to support the memory events on AMD NPT.
(Working on Xen 4.4 on HVM guests (windows XP 32 bit -PAE)

thanks

Abhiroop,

I see you also asked this on the xen-devel mailing list where a discussion has begun. That's the best location for a question like this. When you need to know what the developers are thinking or why a particular piece of code is written a certain way, the place to go is the xen-devel mailing list.

Folks interested in this topic can review the xen-devel thread here:
