FOSDEM: Porting FreeBSD on Xen on ARM
Xen recently supports ARMv7 and ARMv8 platforms, such as the Arndale Board, Midway, Cubieboard,... With the new Xen architecture for ARM, porting your OS as a guest, is easier that you might think. It will allow your guest to be shared on your virtualized ARM server. This session will focus on what are the requirements and what needs to be done in order to get your OS working as a guest. Also, examples will be provided about how we ported FreeBSD to run as Xen ARM guest.
The goal of this talk is to provide information about Xen on ARM project and encourage hackers to port their OSes as ARM guests.
Topics which will be covered:
* Xen on ARM architecture * Prequisites to boot an OS as Xen guest * What was modified in FreeBSD ARM core? * What about BSD as DOM0?
